Qigong in Chinese Medicine

Chinese Medicine Qi Gong

Clearing the Meridians and Harmonizing Qi and Blood

The meridians are interconnected systems that bridge the internal and external aspects of the human body, including the internal organs. They serve as pathways for the circulation of Qi (life energy) and blood, vital for sustaining life.

Qigong can clear these meridians throughout the body, promoting average circulation of Qi and blood. Through physical activities, breathing techniques, and focused thought, Qigong helps regulate and enhance the physiological functions of various tissues and organs.

Strengthening the Body and Eliminating Negative Energy

Traditional Chinese medicine posits that “when the positive energy is strong within, negative forces cannot interfere.” This means the potential for external negative influences to cause harm depends on the individual’s internal state.

Qigong exercises nurture positive energy, filling the body with true Qi and significantly enhancing the function of internal organs and overall physical health. This, in turn, improves resistance to external threats and pathogenic factors.

Mobilizing Potential and Developing Intellect

The brain’s central nervous system regulates human behaviour. Qigong exercises, guided by focused thought, can adjust and balance the central nervous system through relaxation and tranquillity. This increases brain orderliness and enhances cognitive abilities. Scientific studies have shown that Qigong can tap into and develop human potential, improve physiological functions, enhance adaptability and immunity, and facilitate the development of intelligence. It can also improve memory, academic performance, and athletic abilities.
